Miami International Airport (IATA: MIA, ICAO: KMIA, FAA LID: MIA) is a public airport located eight miles (13 km) northwest of the central business district of Miami, in unincorporated Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States.[1] It is between the cities of Miami, Hialeah, Doral, and Miami Springs, the village of Virginia Gardens, and the unincorporated community of Fountainbleau.
The airport is a hub for passenger airlines American Airlines, American Eagle, Gulfstream International Airlines under the Continental Connection name, and Executive Air under the American Eagle name; cargo airlines Arrow Air, Fine Air, UPS Airlines and FedEx Express; and charter airline Miami Air. Miami International Airport handles flights to cities throughout the Americas and Europe, as well as Israel and cargo flights to Asia, and is South Florida's main airport for long-haul international flights, although most domestic and low-cost carriers use Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Palm Beach International Airport, which charge significantly lower fees to tenant airlines.
Miami is the premier gateway between the US and Latin America, and, along with Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, Miami is one of the largest aerial gateways into the American South, owing to its proximity to tourist attractions, local economic growth, large local Latin American and European populations, and strategic location to handle connecting traffic between North America, Latin America, and Europe. In the past, it has been a hub for Eastern Air Lines, Air Florida, the original National Airlines, the original Pan Am, United Airlines, and Iberia. As an international gateway to the United States it ranks third, behind New York-JFK in New York City and LAX in Los Angeles. Miami is also the proposed hub of two new start-up airlines, one which hopes to use the Eastern Airlines name.
Miami Airport is located 15km west of central Miami. From downtown Miami, take the I-95 north to SR836 West, take the exit at LeJeune Road northbound (NW 42 Avenue); the airport is well signposted. From the north, take the I-95 south to SR112, continuing to the connector to the airport. From the southwest, take SR826 north and exit at LeJeune Road northbound (NW 42 Avenue).

Miami Airport has excellent facilities for those travelling with special needs or who require assistance. If you are going to require a wheelchair at the airport (which are provided free of charge), reserve this with your airline when you book your ticket. If you require assistance or an ambulift to help you on to the aircraft, also make sure you confirm this when you book your ticket with the airline. You can also ask for a wheelchair when you check in but it is recommended to pre book if you can.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (IATA: FLL, ICAO: KFLL, FAA LID: FLL) is an international commercial airport located in Dania Beach, three miles (5 km) southwest of the central business district of Fort Lauderdale, a city in Broward County, Florida, United States.[1] It is also located near the city of Hollywood and is 21 miles (33.7 km) north of Miami.
In 2007, the airport processed 22,681,903 passengers including 2,858,047 international passengers. Currently ranked as the 22nd busiest airport (in terms of passenger traffic) in the United States as well as the nation's 15th busiest international air gateway, FLL is the fastest-growing major airport in the country.[2] The facility also ranks as one of the 50 busiest airports in the world.
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport serves as a focus city for Allegiant Air, and JetBlue Airways. The airport is the largest hub for Spirit Airlines, catering mainly to the airline's international to domestic network. It is also a hub for Gulfstream International Airlines under the Continental Connection name and Lynx Air International. The airport's close proximity to cruise line terminals at Port Everglades has also made it popular among tourists bound for the Caribbean. Since the late 1990s, FLL has emerged as an intercontinental gateway as well, especially for charter carriers, although Miami International Airport still handles most long-haul flights to and from South Florida. The airport offers free Wi-Fi Internet access throughout its terminals
The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is committed to ongoing efforts to enhance the airport's environmentally sensitive approach. Clearly there are challenges with an airport hosting 40 airlines with destinations to 60 domestic cities and 40 International destinations. In 2007 FLL handled 22.7 million passengers. The airport is managed by Broward County and the Board of County Commissioners who are all dedicated to the preservation of our beautiful South Florida community. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is located in Dania Beach 5km southwest of the centre of Fort Lauderdale and 8km from the beaches. It is near to Hollywood and 40km north of Miami.
The airport connects to the Florida Turnpike, I-95, I-595 and US Route 1. Take the State Road 84 or the I-595 and turn onto SW 29 Avenue for the Park N Save car park, or follow US Route 1 south to the airport Perimeter Road for the economy car park.
Fort Lauderdale is currently the fastest-growing major airport in the United States and its close proximity to the cruise line terminals at Port Everglades has made it popular for travellers bound for the Caribbean.
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport has four terminals. Terminal 1 is usually referred to as the new terminal and it opened in stages between 2001 and 2003. The other three terminals were constructed in the mid-1980's as part of a $263 million construction project. Terminal 4 is the International Terminal which was officially opened by a visit from Concorde in 1983.

There are lots of disabled parking bays in all car parks and all shuttle bus stands are beside these parking bays. All shuttle buses have wheelchair access. There are also emergency call boxes in all car parks if assistance is required.
For the hearing impaired you can collect a visual paging monitor for the upper and lower levels of terminals 1 to 4. Amplified telephones are also available throughout the airport.
There are wheelchair friendly toilets throughout all concourses.
